TeachCraft 04: Home Or Classroom, Management Is Key
At Al-Fouz Auditorium, a special Teachers’ Training event was organized for the teachers of Al-Fouz English Medium and associated institutions. The session was led by Nairul SK, Program Coordinator of Base Foundation, who delivered an insightful presentation on Classroom Management.
The focus of the session was on how to create a classroom environment that encourages reading, writing, speaking, and overall academic engagement through socialization, extroverted interaction, and the nurturing of an academic ambiance.
The training emphasized practical strategies that teachers can apply directly in their classrooms:
* Using assertive body language * Maintaining an appropriate tone of voice * Applying Albert Mehrabian’s Elements of Personal Communication (55% Body Language, 38% Voice and Tone, 7% Spoken Words) * Persisting until the desired behavior occurs * Establishing clear learning goals * Providing flexible learning opportunities * Engaging in informal conversations with students (before, during, and after class about their interests) * Greeting students outside the classroom or school * Innovating in classroom setup and teaching approach * Opening with the inspiring story of Thomas Alva Edison’s School Dismissal Letter to his mother
Teachers’ Feedback
The session was well-received by the participants, who expressed their appreciation in heartfelt words. One teacher commented: > “Even though you are outspoken in English, Urdu, Arabic, and Hindi, it was your Bengali that, even if you were detached from the language for long, truly amazed us. It kept us engaged without distraction or boredom until the end of the class.”
Another added: > “Don’t think I am exaggerating, rather I am directly quoting their words.” The training was not only a platform for professional growth but also an opportunity to strengthen the bond between teachers and the learning community. With such engaging sessions, Base Foundation continues its commitment to empowering educators with innovative strategies and impactful practices.
